Plaintiffs in US case given time to amend complaint : JK Yaming

(2006-03-07)

IN an update on legal suits brought against it and two subsidiaries in a US court, mainboard-listed JK Yaming International Holdings said the two plaintiffs have been given time to file a third amended complaint.

I The investment holding company, whose electrical products operations are based in China, announced in November last year the suits brought by Segue Electronics Inc and Shine Capacitors LLC.

I Allegations first made included breach of contract, fraud and intentional interference with contractual relationship.

I 'The court heard arguments from both sides regarding the responses to the (plaintiffs') second amended complaint on 28 February 2006,' said JK Yaming.

I The plaintiffs were given 15 days to file a third amended complaint after certain pleadings were ruled defective.

I JK Yaming said 'the company anticipates filing further responsive pleadings when the plaintiffs file their third amended complaint'. The company will again 'assert all appropriate affirmative defences' as advised by its legal counsel. 'Pending resolution of the legal suits, shareholders of the company are reminded to exercise caution when dealing in the shares of the company,' said JK Yaming.
