BAGGAGE handling systems specialist Inter-Roller Engineering yesterday posted net profit of $1.55 million for its third quarter ended September, versus a loss of $839,000 in the year-ago period. Its net earnings for the first nine months of this year came to $4.8 million, as its turnover for the period trebled to $39.5 million from $13 million.

Sales for the third quarter jumped to $14.2 million from $3.2 million a year ago. Inter-Roller said 90 per cent of its turnover came from airport logistics systems and the bulk of this was from airport upgrading work it did. The company added that at the end of September, its outstanding orders totalled $93.7 million, and said its Q4 turnover and profit are expected to match those of the third quarter.
